Principal, Integrated Design Group
Jack is an electrical engineer by trade and Principal of Integrated Design Group. His career includes expertise in facilities ranging from 2,000 SF clean rooms, to 100,000+ SF data centers, and 160,000 SF office building renovations. Jack has spoken at many data center industry events including Data Center Dynamics and . His experience in data center design and public speaking make him the perfect guide for attendees of the symposium. Jack engages with speakers and the audience, making the symposium a unique experience.

Mark Monroe
Chief Technology Advisor, Integrated Design Group

Mark drives Integrated Design Group's effort to maintain technological leadership in the design of data centers. Drawing on 28 years of industry experience, he works directly with clients to provide innovative, smart and sustainable design solutions. Mark also serves as executive director of The Green Grid, an IT industry and end user consortium focused on resource efficient data centers and business computing environments. He is also on the board of directors for the Center for ReSource Conservation in Boulder, CO. He works on sustainability advisory boards with the University of Colorado and local Colorado governments, and is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt and Master Black Belt.



Jeff Paschke
Research Manager, Multi-Tenant Datacenters, Tier1 Research

Jeff Paschke joined Tier1 Research in July 2008 as a Senior Research Analyst covering datacenters. Prior to joining Tier1, Jeff spent more than 15 years managing datacenters and overseeing IT operations for diverse Fortune 500 companies. For more than five years, Jeff managed datacenters for Capital One Financial. Before Capital One, he spent more than 10 years as a consultant advising Fortune 500 clients on re-architecting and redesigning datacenter infrastructures, processes, tools and organizations. Jeff started his career in the defense industry, deploying and managing computer networks for General Dynamics. Jeff holds a BS in Computer Science from Texas A&M University and an MBA from Southern Methodist University.


Jason Schafer
Research Manager, Datacenter Technologies, Tier1 Research

Jason Schafer joined Tier1 Research in August 2008 as a Senior Analyst covering datacenter technology, construction and engineering. Jason has 14 years of experience in the mission-critical facilities field, including service in the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program and as a datacenter commissioning specialist for Lee Technologies, where he managed datacenter projects for customers such as the US Army, the US Patent & Trademark Office, Verizon, Comcast and Interactive Data Corporation. Jason was also Lee Technologies' technical training manager, developing datacenter technical training programs for internal use and for customers such as Microsoft. Jason attended North Carolina State University, where he studied Electrical Engineering. He is a certified infrared thermographer, and received his certification as a qualified commissioning process provider from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.


Mark Thompson
National Advanced Technology Market Group Leader, DPR Construction

Mark Thompson leads the National Advanced Technology Group for DPR Construction, one of the country's top technical builders and the 3rd largest data center and telecommunications contractor in the nation (ENR 2011). With more than 20 years of experience in the delivery of mission critical, semiconductor, life science and corporate office projects, Thompson works with DPR offices across the country to enhance overall project delivery and quality of service for the company's Advanced Technology customers, which include such industry leaders as Digital Realty Trust, Facebook, AT&T, Microsoft, HP, Fortune Data Centers and Yahoo!. He also serves as Project Executive on several of DPR's current mission critical facility projects and his extensive technical expertise includes project evaluation, scheduling, project logistics, cost control, subcontractor management and strategic planning.
